Funciones

Key Responsibilities

Representation (15%)

  • Cultivate and maintain high‑level relationships with government authorities, donors, private‑sector actors, peer NGOs, and community leaders to strengthen regional positioning and influence.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on political, social, environmental, and economic trends to inform strategic planning, risk mitigation, and decision-making.
  • Identify strategic partners—institutions, networks, and actors—that enhance country and regional programs.
  • Participate in regional and global coordination spaces, learning platforms, and strategic forums.
  • Represent the organization as the senior regional authority, ensuring consistency in external messaging.

Staff Management & Operations (15%)

  • Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, staffing structures, and workforce planning.
  • Lead performance management processes, including coaching, feedback, and development plans.
  • Resolve complex operational, compliance, and personnel issues using sound judgment.
  • Foster an inclusive environment and uphold ethics, safety, and security standards.
Program Implementation & Oversight (20%)

  • Lead high-quality and compliant implementation of multi‑country programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and technical standards.
  • Strengthen program execution systems to ensure consistency, operational excellence, and adaptive management.
  • Oversee monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability frameworks.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes and manage performance throughout the year.
  • Identify training and professional development needs within the portfolio.

Strategy & Growth (40%)

  • Lead regional business development efforts by identifying and pursuing high‑value funding opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee the development of competitive, technically sound proposals and concept notes.
  • Design impactful, evidence‑based programs that respond to community needs and regional strategies.
  • Represent the organization in high-level forums, conferences, and sectoral networks.
  • Provide regional insights that contribute to thought leadership and cross-regional alignment.

Strategic Planning (10%)

  • Lead the development and revision of regional strategic plans.
  • Analyze emerging trends, market dynamics, and sectoral opportunities to inform long-term positioning.
  • Implement regional frameworks and planning tools that strengthen performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, documentation of best practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify strategic risks and develop mitigation and adaptation strategies. 
Requisitos

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in International Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in international development, leading complex, multi‑country programs.
  • At least 5 years in senior leadership roles (Director level or equivalent).
  • Proven experience managing partnerships with governments, NGOs, multilaterals, donors, and private‑sector actors.
  • Demonstrated success in business development: funding opportunity identification, donor engagement, and proposal development.
  • Solid understanding of donor‑funded environments (USG, UN agencies, bilateral/multilateral donors, private foundations).
  • Strong financial management capabilities: budgeting, resource allocation, oversight, and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership skills managing multicultural, multilingual, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Advanced strategic planning, analytical thinking, risk management, and decision‑making skills.
  • Outstanding communication abilities—verbal and written—engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel frequently across South America, including challenging environments.
